Save Money in the Long Term With Dental Technology
Our technology allows our dentists to detect problems before they require costly solutions. For example, our advanced microscope detects cavities when they're still small, so we can provide you with a filling instead of an expensive dental implant and implant-supported crown.
Additionally, the images we take with our intraoral scanners can help our Orland Park dental office justify coverage to your insurance provider by proving that treatment is medically necessary.

ZEISS EXTARO 300
The ZEISS EXTARO® 300 is an advanced microscope that provides breakthrough visualization modes that can be used in general and restorative dentistry alike. For example, our dentists can use this microscope during routine checkups to detect cavities in their earliest stages and preserve as much of the healthy tooth as possible during a filling treatment. The microscope can also be used in tooth restoration, endodontics, and dental surgery.
Zoom Teeth Whitening
Philips Zoom® is an advanced whitening system that can whiten a patient's teeth by up to eight shades. During in-office treatment, a gel is applied to the teeth and a special LED light is used to activate the gel, causing a reaction that lifts surface stains. Treatment often only takes an hour and results are much more dramatic than any store-bought product could provide. Plus, when treatment is administered by a periodontist and implant specialist like Dr. Akhras, tooth sensitivity can be minimized. We also offer take-home kits for patients who prefer to whiten their teeth from the comfort of their home.
CEREC Same-Day Restorations
CEREC® is a dental milling technology that creates lifelike dental restorations like crowns in about an hour. While our permanent crowns are crafted and hand-finished by ceramists in a local lab, our dentists can provide you with a temporary crown from our CEREC machine on the same day you come in for your appointment. After we've prepared your tooth and taken impressions to create a permanent crown that fits comfortably in your mouth, you can return to your day with improved oral function.
TRIOS Intraoral Scanner
Our Orland Park office uses the TRIOS® Intraoral Scanner, a small handheld device that allows our dentists to examine areas of the mouth that are difficult to reach. With this dental technology, we can accurately detect oral health concerns like gum disease and cavities as well as take fast and accurate 3D impressions of the dental arches when planning treatment like restorations or dental implant placement.
Low-Radiation Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays are used in restorative and general dentistry to detect abnormalities within the oral structures and plan treatment. X-rays help our team detect cavities, infected root canals, bone loss from gum disease, cracks in fillings and teeth, and more. Low-radiation digital X-rays are fast and expose our patients to much less radiation than traditional X-ray machines.
Cone Beam Computed Tomography
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) scanners are an advanced X-ray technology that takes high-quality 3D pictures of the teeth, mouth, and jaws in minutes. CBCT scanners help our dentists make accurate diagnoses and aid in treatment planning for procedures like dental implant placement, endodontic care, orthodontics, and dental surgery.
Millenium PerioLase MVP-7
We're excited to incorporate the Millenium PerioLase® MVP-7™ device into several types of laser gum surgeries. Traditional methods can cause a range of side effects, including a lengthy recovery and substantial discomfort. But with this advanced laser system, gum surgery patients can enjoy a reduced risk of infection, less pain and bleeding, and other benefits.
